Wuala

Wuala is a cloud storage solution that has a lot to offer: useful functionality, proper security, and lots of convenience. You see, you can use this application to upload data to the cloud. All the data you upload is encrypted and thus transferred securely. Once uploaded to the cloud, the data can be accessed from the web browser, can be synced across devices, and can be shared with others.

The Wuala setup wizard will allow you to choose which components will be installed on your machine. On top of the core program files, you can choose to install a couple of additional components:
Wuala Disk Drive – allows you to access your Wuala files from Windows Explorer.
Windows Explorer Integration – enables you to see the status of your backup and synchronization folders in Windows Explorer.

Once you’re done installing Wuala, you will be invited to create an account or sign in with an existing account. Enter the required info (username, email, password) and you will be able to quickly create a free account and get 5GB cloud storage for free.

The first time you run Wuala, you will be presented with a 6-step welcome tour. This tour provides useful information on what Wuala can do. It will tell you that data uploaded to the cloud can be accessed from anywhere, that you can securely back up your files by uploading them to the cloud, that you can sync uploaded files across devices (Wuala is available for Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android), that you can easily share files with others, and that all data transfers are encrypted.

Wuala has an Explorer-like interface, which means you will immediately feel at home. It must be mentioned that you can choose between Thumbnail and Details view for the interface. It must also be mentioned that you can pick one of several supported languages for the interface: English, French, Italian, Turkish, and more. Wuala will need to restart for the new language to be applied.

From this user friendly interface you will have no problems accessing the many features Wuala puts at your disposal: back up data to the cloud (upload folders, upload files), sync data across devices (sync with this computer, sync with this device, add and configure devices), share data with others (share with Wuala contacts, share by secret weblink), create private and public groups, find contacts, invite people you know.

As mentioned above, Wuala gives you 5GB of cloud storage for free. Additional storage space is available for purchase. You can purchase up to 2TB cloud storage.
